He is best known for his work in civic welfare, environmental activism, and youth empowerment through his organization, the New Sangam Welfare Society. Shaikh also serves as a political representative of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Mumbai.

Faiyaz Alam Shaikh was born on 2 February 1994 in Govandi, Mumbai, to Kitabullah Shaikh. His family originally hails from Gonda district, in Uttar Pradesh. Growing up in a working-class neighborhood, he witnessed social and environmental challenges faced by local communities, which inspired his early interest in public service and civic activism.

Shaikh completed his schooling (Grades 1–10) at Anjuman Behrul Uloom Urdu High School (Urdu Medium) in Govandi. He went on to complete his higher secondary education (Science stream) at M.H. Saboo Siddik College, Byculla (MHSSE).

He holds multiple academic degrees:

During his college years, Faiyaz Alam Shaikh founded the New Sangam Welfare Society, a registered community-based organization in Govandi.
