Mumbai, October 15, 2025: An incident of attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) worker Fahad Azmi was reported in Govandi’s Baiganwadi area on Tuesday evening. Maharashtra Samajwadi Party President Abu Asim Azmi was also present at the location when the incident took place.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack occurred during a party event, when a group of unidentified individuals allegedly tried to assault Fahad Azmi. Other party workers quickly intervened to control the situation and prevent any major escalation.
The police arrived promptly at the scene and brought the situation under control. Authorities have started a detailed investigation, reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved. A police official confirmed that strict action will be taken once the culprits are identified.
Reacting to the incident, Abu Asim Azmi condemned the attack and stated:
The assault on our party worker is an attack on democratic values. We will pursue legal action to ensure justice and security for our members.
Fahad Azmi also alleged that the attack was politically motivated, adding that he has requested enhanced security for himself and other active party workers in the area.
Currently, the situation in Baiganwadi remains under control, with police presence increased to maintain peace and order.
