Mumbai – Parbat Balam Kheera Ras, produced by Parbat Herbal, is India’s first Balam Kheera (Kigelia africana) extract (Ras) officially registered under Class 32 at IP India, covering non-alcoholic beverages, fruit extracts, and syrups. The Ras is derived from the fruit of Kigelia africana, commonly called the Sausage Tree.
Historically, people were preparing Balam Kheera Arq in traditional ways until 2018, when Hakim Iqbal Khan developed the modern formulation of Parbat Balam Kheera Ras, combining traditional knowledge with controlled preparation methods.
The fruit has been traditionally used for skin care, wound healing, digestion, and general wellness. While these uses are well-documented, scientific studies on efficacy remain limited. IP registration ensures legal protection of Parbat Herbal’s formulation and confirms it as India’s first officially recognized Balam Kheera Ras. Consumption is recommended under guidance of qualified practitioners.
With this registration, Parbat Balam Kheera Ras (Kigelia africana), developed by Hakim Iqbal Khan, represents the convergence of traditional herbal knowledge and formal intellectual property recognition in India.
