Anjum Lucknowi, born Mohammad Iqbal Khan on March 7, 1973, hails from Fatehpur Tehsil in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh. He grew up in a modest family, being the eldest child of Mohammad Haleem Khan and Sugra Khatoon. His early years were marked by a deep interest in language, literature, and poetry.

Career

In Mumbai, Anjum Lucknowi came under the mentorship of noted poet Aish Kanwal, who helped shape his literary voice. He performed in his first Mushaira (poetic gathering) in Kurla, Mumbai, in the late 1980s, which marked the beginning of his public career as a poet.

Since then, he has participated in Mushairas and Kavi Sammelans across India, gaining recognition for his unique style that combines classical Urdu tradition with modern thought. Beyond poetry, in 2020 he founded Parbat Herbal, a company focused on Unani medicine and natural wellness products, reflecting his interest in social and community development.
